Bobcat Summer STEM Academy is a series of two-day and weekly workshops for 1st - 12th grade students located at the University of California Merced campus. BSA workshops are created by UC Merced faculty, postdocs, research scientists, students, and staff. Workshops are designed to give students one-of-a-kind, hands-on STEM experiences.
Bobcat Summer STEM Academy, 2024, runs from June 17th, 2024 – August 2nd, 2024. Workshops are in-person, Monday – Friday, from 9 am – 4 pm. Drop-off begins at 8:45 am and pick-up is 3:30 pm. Lunch and snacks are provided, please have your students bring a reusable water bottle. Spots are limited to 24 students per workshop.
The price is as follows:
$150 for 1-week academy
$60 for 2-day academy
BSA Student Scholarships:
A limited number of scholarships are available to families experiencing financial constraints. Scholarships are limited to one per child and will only cover the cost of a single academy. To apply for a scholarship click HERE. Please note, that scholarships will be provided based on the submitted application, seat availability within the selected academy, and remaining scholarship funding. You will be notified via email if your student has been selected to receive the scholarship.
1. Elementary STEM Academy (1st - 6th Grade)
- Two-day and week-long academies are offered (Monday - Friday, 9am - 4pm)
- Spots are limited to 24 students per workshop
- Students transitioning from 6th into 7th grade are eligible to attend the elementary academies.

2. Middle School STEM Academies (6th-8th Grade)
- Week-long (Monday- Friday) academies on campus from 9am-4pm
- 2 day (various days) academies on campus from 9am-4pm
- Spots are limited to 24 students per workshop
